How we test. we open an account ourselves, stake money with Bancontact, ask for the money back and measure how long it takes. We check the operator against the Gaming Commission's white and black lists and read the bonus terms line by line. Anything that could not be checked is cut at the final edit.
What the law imposes
Belgium regulates player protection more firmly than players tend to expect and it is built that way on purpose. Every licensed site applies a default deposit limit of €200 per week. A lower limit takes effect directly, raising runs through a verification and then a waiting window.
Self-exclusion in Belgium is handled centrally, through EPIS: one registration excludes you at once from every licensed operator, online and on-site. The entry point is the Gaming Commission. The age bar moved on 1 September 2024 from 18 to 21 for casino, hall and betting; only the National Lottery stays at 18. A trial account falls under it too.
